One of the most enjoyable parts of a traveling experience is communication with the locals. Which countries have you traveled to have the most welcoming people with strangers? After polling the internet, here are the top-voted countries.

1. Taiwan

“I felt that, for the most part, the entire nation of Taiwan wanted to ensure I was happy and enjoyed every one of my visits to their country,” shared one. “I’d only had to look briefly confused, and a helpful stranger would appear to translate, offer directions, or ask about my well-being.”

2. New Zealand

Another confessed, “New Zealand was one of the best travel experiences of my life. The people were kind and willing to help with my directions and questions. Additionally, my Airbnbs were all clean, and everyone was very considerate.”

“Canada was super fun to visit. There were a lot of small towns that welcomed us in as if we had lived there our whole lives. By the end of the week, they all knew our names and life’s story. I will revisit Canada, “one stated.

Australia is great as long as you stay out of the areas like Warrnambool, where they aren’t fans of outsiders. The tourist destinations are beautiful, and the workers are very kind,” suggested one. “As long as you don’t go during spider web season. You’re good,” semi-joked another.

“The people of Nepal are so genuinely nice that you forget they’re strangers. Everyone has always been so thoughtful in my experience in every destination I’ve been to,” another confirmed.

Someone shared, “I met the most patient people on my trip to Spain. So I decided to take some Spanish classes before my trip but didn’t even consider how many different dialects I would encounter during my excursion. Luckily, many could interpret my broken Spanglish into a somewhat understandable version of their beautiful language.”

7. Ireland

Someone replied, “Greece. The architecture alone makes the trip to Greece worth the expenses. In the tourist stops, most vendors rely on tourism for their primary source of income, so they make a point to be extra kind and courteous when you support their business.”

Visiting Sweden was my favorite vacation I’ve ever taken. Everyone I met was so genuinely kind that I finally understood why people felt safe enough to leave their baby carriages outside restaurants while eating. Not once did I encounter anyone rude, never mind any crime. By far the best vacation spot,” suggested another.
